What's on my Painting Table - Stormboyz batch 2 & 2nd Stompa

With my first batch of Ork Stormboyz completed I decided to move onto painting the second batch of them.   However I thought I'd try and make the painting a bit more varied so I chose to paint the 3 3rd/4th edition Stormboyz that I had in my unit (the metal and plastic ones).

I also decided to try and get some more work done on my second Stompa (As I'm hoping to use it in my next game of 40K) so out it came from my display cabinet.  I have to admit that work on my second Stompa has been going slowly but I'm hoping to knuckle down and get at least the base coat finished on it this week (It's almost there!).  Anyway here are the results.

The Stompa

This was about as much as I had done on my Stompa over the past few months.

By the end of today I had got all  most all of the base coat applied.  I'd say I was about 85% of the way there.

This is the rear view.  It's mainly the metallic bits left to paint, just hope I have enough Leadbelcher left in my pot!

Stormboyz

Base coating the three miniatures.  I tend to work by applying one colour at a time to all three.  Usually I start with the flesh first, then the brown jacket and trousers.

With most of the base colours applied I only have the metallic areas left to paint,  then I can begin highlighting and shading.

Imperial Fist

I've also decided to paint this Imperial Fists miniature who's part of my Devastator Squad.

TIP OF THE WEEK

With the recent hot weather we've been having I've found that some of my paints, especially the base or metallic paints have become a bit thicker than normal if left in the sun.  If you find this happening to you then you can water them down by adding a drop of water to your pot and giving it a quick shake.  Be careful though because if you add too much water your paints will become too runny!

I also try to keep my paints out of any direct sunlight when I'm not using them.
