Da Mek's workshop - Chaos Space Marines and Blood Angels Kill Team

I recently purchased a copy of the new Kill Team game (mainly to get a physical copy of the new Kill Team rules) which comes with a Space Marine Tactical Squad and some Tau.  I decided to use the Tactical Squad to create a 5 man squad to use in one of my Blood Angels Kill Team lists (They’re going to be teamed up with 5 Space Marines on Bikes).  I really wanted to show that this squad was an elite unit that were regularly deployed in Kill Team missions.  As such I decided to convert them a little to give them so extra equipment and war gear.  Here are the results.

My 5 man Tatical Squad Kill Team!

Once I get some more red spray I’ll be painting these guys up.

I also decided to use some of the remaining miniatures to make some new troops for my Death Guard/Plague Marine themed Chaos Space Marine army.  I needed to have another special weapon marine and, seeing as I wasn’t going to use him with my Blood Angels I thought it would be a good idea to convert the missile launcher marine so I could start get a unit of Havocs together (As GW seem to not want to release these in plastic!).  A new Havoc squad would need a new Champion to command them so I also converted him up using parts from my bits box.

The start of a new Havoc Squad.

Stay on Target - Disco Vader tournament report

Bit late in posting but a few weeks ago I took part in Kirton Games Disco Vader X-Wing tournament.  There were 12 players and we played 3 games.  For this tournament I decided to use a scum list which I’d been working on (I normally play Rebels but fancied a change).   This is the list I ran with;

Denger (33)
Punishing One (12)
Push The Limit (3)
Gonk (2)
Unhinged Astromech(1)

Syndicate Thug (18)
BTL-A4 (0)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Unhinged Astromech (1)

Syndicate Thug (18)
Ion Cannon (5)
Unhinged Astromech (1)

Over the course of the tournament (which was held during the evening) we played 3 games.  The first two of which I won (Wiping out both by opponents squads and only losing 1 of my ships in each game, which happened to be the Y-Wing with the TLT on it.  Every get the feeling people don’t like that turret weapon! ).  I was on good track but by my third and final game but I was up against a very good opponent who managed to table me (wiping out my entire squad!).  I did do some damage to his squad, and because they were large ships I got half points for doing 50% or more damage to them, so managed to scrape 35 points.  During my final round I had a good shot of getting the points up to 50 out of the possible 100 available (Which would have made the defeat less of an issue), all I had to do was score one or more hits on one of his ships.  Unfortunately my attack dice had other plans and rolled blanks for me!

My prizes for coming 4th!

In the end I finished 4th, which I was rather surprised by as this is the highest I’ve every placed in an X-Wing tournament.  I was really happy with  my squad list so will probably use it again in future tournaments.
