Da Mek's workshop - Chaos Space Marines and Blood Angels Kill Team

I recently purchased a copy of the new Kill Team game (mainly to get a physical copy of the new Kill Team rules) which comes with a Space Marine Tactical Squad and some Tau.  I decided to use the Tactical Squad to create a 5 man squad to use in one of my Blood Angels Kill Team lists (They’re going to be teamed up with 5 Space Marines on Bikes).  I really wanted to show that this squad was an elite unit that were regularly deployed in Kill Team missions.  As such I decided to convert them a little to give them so extra equipment and war gear.  Here are the results.

My 5 man Tatical Squad Kill Team!

Once I get some more red spray I’ll be painting these guys up.

I also decided to use some of the remaining miniatures to make some new troops for my Death Guard/Plague Marine themed Chaos Space Marine army.  I needed to have another special weapon marine and, seeing as I wasn’t going to use him with my Blood Angels I thought it would be a good idea to convert the missile launcher marine so I could start get a unit of Havocs together (As GW seem to not want to release these in plastic!).  A new Havoc squad would need a new Champion to command them so I also converted him up using parts from my bits box.

Da Mek's workshop - Converted Blood Angels Space Marine Captain

I recently bought the new Start Collecting Blood Angels box set and was presented with a second Blood Angels Captain in Terminator Armour miniature (I already have one of them!).  Rather than not use it I decided to see what I had in my bitz box to see if I could convert him in anyway into an alternative Captain miniature.  This is what I came up with...

He’s loosely based on the Space Marine shown on the Relic box game cover art.  I’m not sure if I’ll ever use him in a game of 40K but I guess it’s always good to have alternative minatures laying around.  Besides he does look rather cool.

Da Mek's workshop - Eldar Warlock/Farseer on Jetbike

Here's some photos showing the construction of a converted warlock on Jetbike miniature that I just completed for my new Eldar army.  If you fancy making one yourself this should give you a rough idea how.  If you do build one let me know.  I'd love to see how yours turns out.

I needed a few kits for this conversion.  Mainly the Eldar Jetbike and the plastic Farseer miniature.

First thing to do is to assemble the body of the Jetbike and put the riders legs on.  I also added a tail fin to the jetbike using a piece from the Wrathguard kit.  Top Tip - Don't glue the canopy on yet as you'll need plenty of space to model the green stuff onto the miniature.

Next I trimmed the Farseers body down so that it would sit snuggly on top of the riders legs.

After some trimming the body is glued into place.

The next thing to do was to add the right arm (which is steering the Jetbike) to the body.  Again this required some careful trimming.

Now for the other arm and head.  I glued the second arm furst and then positioned the head accordingly.  In this pose my Warlock is unleashing his Psychic energy onto an enemy unit.

Using bits from the Farseer kit I added the robes to the Warlock.

Once dried I filled in any gaps with Green stuff (I used liquid and regular) and dis a bit of remodelling to make the robes look complete.  This took a while and is one of the biggest challenges for me as I've not had much sculpting experience.  Once the green stuff has dried (Leave it for at least 24 hours) I glued on the canopy (complete with an added targeting system)  and I was done.

So what do you think?  I'd love to hear your comments.
